VCR-DVD Player

 


Basic Operations

Turning On

To turn on, press the power button located in the lower left corner on the front of the player or use the power button on the remote control.

When the player is on, you will see red letters above the time display indicating what mode you are currently in.

 

Turning Off

Always turn the player off at the end of the day; it is recommented that the player also be turned off during the day when not in use.  To turn off, press the power button on the front of the player or use the power button on the remote control.  When the player is off, you will not see the mode (DVD/VCR) displayed.

 

Remote

The remote control can be used to operate the player.  View a remote control image with a description of the function of each button.

 

Controls On Front Of Player

Flip the front panel down to display controls and inputs.  View image of controls and inputs with a description of the function of each button.

 

Adjusting Time / Date

There may be times when you will need to adjust the time and date on your VCR/DVD player.  For example, if the power is cut to the VCR/DVD player, you may need to reset the time and date on your player.  Or when the time changes, you may need to adjust the time on your player.

  1. Select the Home button on the remote control to bring up the Setup menu.
  2. Select the Enter button on the remote.
  3. Use your right arrow to move over to the menu selections.
  4. Use your down arrow to select Clock Set.
  5. Use your right arrow to move to the date and time fields.
  6. Make changes as necessary using your up and down arrows.
  7. Scroll through each field using the right arrow.
  8. To change from AM to PM or vice-versa, you will need to scroll through the hours until you have the correct AM / PM setting displayed.
  9. When done, select the Enter button on the remote to save your changes.
  10. Select the Close button on the remote - twice.

 

Auto-Programming TV Channels (Auto Channel Scan)

If the power is cut to the VCR/DVD player, you may need to reprogram your TV channels on your player. 

  1. Turn on your projector (using the wall plate).
  2. Switch to VCR/DVD input (on the wall plate).
  3. Turn on your VCR/DVD player.
  4. Select the Home button on the remote control to bring up the Setup menu.
  5. Use your right arrow to move to the TV menu.
  6. Use your down arrow to select Channel Edit and press the Enter button on the remote.

Manually Programming TV Channels

If the power is cut to the VCR/DVD player, you may need to reprogram your TV channels on your player.  You would first want to do the steps in the Auto-Programming TV Channels section above.

  1. Turn on your projector (using the wall plate).
  2. Switch to VCR/DVD input (on the wall plate).
  3. Turn on your VCR/DVD player.
  4. Select the Home button on the remote control to bring up the Setup menu.
  5. Use your right arrow to move to the TV menu.
  6. Use your down arrow to select Auto Ch. Scan.
  7. Numbers in dark white are already programmed into your VCR/DVD player.  To add one that is grayed out, scroll to it using the arrow keys and then press the Enter button.
  8. The Add button will be highlighted.  Press the Enter button and the channel will be added to your channel lineup.
  9. Repeat steps to add additional channels.
  10. When done, press the Return button on the remote to exit channel setup.

 

DVD, VHS, CD, and TV Mode

Playing DVD, VHS or CD

  1. On the wall plate, turn the power on.  Note:  The power is not completely on until the light stops flashing.
  2. Select VCR/DVD input on the wall plate.  Note:  The input is not ready until the light stops flashing.  

 

  1. Turn the power to the player on.
  2. Insert your DVD or VHS tape.  It may take a minute, but the DVD/VHS should begin playing.  If not, select PLAY on the player.
  3. Adjust the volume on the wall plate.  (Volume control on the player does not work.)
  4. Use the controls (on the remote or on the front of the player) to fast forward, rewind, pause, stop and play.
  5. If you are playing a music CD, use the up/down arrows by the ENTER button in the center of the remote to switch music tracks.

 

Troubleshooting Tip:  If you are not seeing the visual on the screen or if the music is not playing, you may need to select the VCR/DVD input again on the wall plate (even if it already looks like it is selected).

 

Watching TV

Your VCR/DVD player must be on to watch TV.

  1. On the wall plate, turn the power on.  Note:  The power is not completely on until the light stops flashing.
  2. Select VCR/DVD input on the wall plate.  Note:  The input is not ready until the light stops flashing. 
  3. Turn the power to the player on.
  4. Using the number pad on your remote to enter the channel you want to watch.  To scroll through channels, use the up/down arrows by the ENTER button in the center of the remote.  Note:  The CH up/down on the remote does not work. 

 

  1. Use the controls (on the remote or on the front of the player) to fast forward, rewind, pause, stop and play.
  2. To watch announcements, tune to the appropriate channel in your building:  HS = 85

 

Troubleshooting Tip:  If you are not seeing the TV channel on the screen, you may need to select the VCR/DVD input again on the wall plate (even if it already looks like it is selected).
